The Loire by Boat
An amazing way to discover the Loire landscapes shaped by the river.
The Loire, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO for its living cultural landscapes, runs through Anjou from Montsoreau at the gateway to Touraine, to Chalonnes-Sur-Loire, towards the Atlantic. A delight to stroll along the longest river in France.

The Loire by Bike
The Loire à Vélo cycle route (the most westerly section of THE EuroVélo 6) allows you to discover all the beauties of Europe's last wild river.
Along the way, you'll wander along its banks and islands, its vineyards on the hillsides, its typical towns and villages and, of course, its many châteaux.
The Loire Valley offers a wealth of wine-growing and gastronomic delights.

The Loire from above
Do you want to live an unforgettable experience? A hot air balloon flight offers the unique opportunity to gain height and contemplate the Loire Valley from another angle. Take in the magnificent landscapes, the Loire Valley castles... all magnified by the light of sunrise or sunset.

The Castles of the Loire
Château d'Angers
An iron fist in a velvet glove. This expression seems to have been coined for the Château des Ducs d'Anjou, a magnificent 13th-century fortress nestling against the River Maine in the heart of Angers. Iron fist for power, that of a gigantic medieval castle reputed to be impregnable. A velvet glove for the softness of its remarkable gardens and the Apocalypse Tapestry, a treasure trove of UNESCO-listed craftsmanship.
Château de Brissac
The highest castle in France, it has monumental facades set in magnificent landscaped grounds with over a hundred-year-old trees.
